The Monstrance was a notable piece of goldwork inside the monastic complex, made by Friar Antonio Sancho de Benevento in 1548.
It was a tower-shaped piece in four sections that measured one metre in height, constructed from gold-plated bronze. It bore a rich iconographic design, represented in minute detail.
Its style and technical quality were comparable to the monstrances in the cathedrals of Toledo and Santiago de Compostela, and it was one of the finest examples of Spanish renaissance goldwork.
It disappeared after the Spanish Civil War and only its hostensory remains.
